About
Pronounced like sane. The æ is not decoration — it is the one letter that does two jobs at once, which is roughly the whole idea.

sæne started because a pair of trousers that fit the way we wanted did not exist at a price that made sense. So we drafted one. Then we drafted it eleven more times.
There is no factory. There is a cutting table, a single-needle Juki, a coverstitch, and a stack of paper patterns that get amended in pencil every time something comes back not quite right.

Runs are small because they are made by hand. When a size sells out it is genuinely gone until the next cut.
Every piece we sell has been filmed being made. If we cannot show you how it was built, we should not be charging you for it.
Wide, deep-rise, long. Clothes that read on a body walking, not a body standing still in a studio.
Direct, no wholesale margin stacked on top. What you pay reflects fabric and hours, not a distribution chain.

The films came out of necessity. Nobody was going to shoot a first run from a bedroom studio, so we shot it ourselves — at night, mostly, because that is when the light gets interesting and the streets empty out.
That turned into its own thing. sæne studio now takes on campaign and lookbook work for other labels.
